Worked with my brand new concierge.. so booked Visa Infinite rate, which was actually $40 cheaper than rate of the day, but the main thing was its cancellable. So we've got 15 nights in a Signature Casita Suite so far, possible room upgrade at check-in, breakfast, valet parking, $25 food voucher, VIP status (whatever this means). I may lock into something cheaper later, which will be non-refundable deposit, but won't have the inclusions.. so will have to keep tabs on available suite upgrade opportunities.. Anybody notice the difference between Beach Casita Suite, Ocean Front Casita and Signature Casita Suite? Sounds like all the suites are the same size, just different locations.

Happy with the Signature Casita Suite as the minimum so far, with a chance to go coastal premium suite as part of the inclusion offered on my rate. And, once we've got our flights finalized, we can plan a stopover in SoCal, so my kids can hit Disneyland/Universal/LegoLand/Knotts.. or we may just stopover in Vancouver as part of the trip coming back.. Will see what happens tomorrow with my flight scheduling possibilities.

But excited to see the Mayakoba finally. I hear its one of the top properties in all of Mexico and extremely beautiful and picturesque. Plus I noticed that the hotel is on the shores just right on the edge of Playa Del Carmen.. Is it safe to roam the streets there? I want to be extremely careful especially with the crime and drug cartels there.. we may just stay on the resort the entire two weeks.

A plus.. my 5 year old will get camp 3 hours a day no charge.. awesome Mayakoba.^ Finding that out, I almost fell off the chair. Fantastic.
