Interesting that over at a popular Priceline-bidding site, a user has posted a review relating her 8/14 - 8/15 experience at the NY Sheraton & Towers: The hotel provided *FREE* water and Sprite, restored power relatively quickly (I'm suspect this was via a generator, since some facilities were still down), and worked with the PL guest to hold her room for the 15th while she tried to secure it via PL. Unsucessful, the hotel provided the room at a rate $30 under the first quote she had received after the emergency ($199 rather tnan $229). At the end of the stay the hotel gave her a credit of about $65 for the inconveinences she experienced).
Contrast this to the Westin DTW ........
And BTW still no refund for the bogus minibar charges - how long should I wait before escalating (I assume the call should go to Starwood Customner Service)? Thanks...
