Schedule opening this morning through November 4, 2011

Southwest will open the bookings this morning through November 4, 2011. Since Ding does a decent job of notification shortly after the fact, our new moderator ftnoob suggested that we use this newsflash to give people a reminder shortly before the schedule opens. We would appreciate feedback on whether you, the readers, regard this as an improvement.

In other news, the roll-out of the new Rapid Rewards has not been rapid or smooth. The following southwest.com website implementation issues may still cause you trouble:

Firefox compatibility. If you are using a version other than 3.6.15, you should read this post: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/south...l#post16013677

Rolling qualification for A-list and CP appears to be different from prior practice and deficient in three ways: (a) you only receive rolling qualification information in RR email, probably monthly; (b) you can no longer get a detailed list of your earning activity for the past year to do the computation yourself; and (c) rolling qualification is not being computed daily, and it is reportedly planned to occur only at the end of each month. If you qualify mid-month to mid-month but not month-end to month-end, of if you are in a hurry to enjoy your benefits, you will need to make a phone call to RR 214-932-0333. See http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/south...mail-only.html

Rolling qualification for A-List Preferred was never promised and may not occur at all. If it does, it will likely be on the same schedule evaluating as the other types of rolling qualification. See http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/south...12-months.html

Companion Pass expiration dates are sometimes shown differently on the two spots on the website. Post cards delivered to notify members of recent qualification still show now-incorrect mid-year expiration dates. See http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/south...-rr-2-0-a.html

There are reports that standard awards are sometimes not being redeposited when award travel is canceled. This behavior is not consistent and may be rare. See http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/south...cellation.html

There are reports that blackout dates are being enforced when booking standard awards. This behavior appears to be consistent and is definitely an error. However the change reservation pages appear not to have this limitation, so you may be able to book your standard award on an available date then change it to a "blackout" date. See http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/south...cellation.html

Oops error messages at the last step when booking standard awards may be fixed now: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/south...one-hitch.html

Boarding Pass ranking for A-List and A-List Preferred was erroneous last week. It may or may not be working as intended now, but it appears to be working differently than before. See http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/south...ed-roster.html

If you want to book a custom connection on a standard award, see the useful trick in this thread: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/south...l#post15967373

As of today, ticketless travel funds remain transferable. At some point in the future they will become locked to the current passenger name, probably without any warning.

Perhaps as a consolation gift for all the website troubles, Southwest could bring back the pillows and blankets...
