They want to spin it off, make it someone else's problem, then move the contracts to American Connection that is much cheaper. That's what CO did with XJT, which is now just another license owned by SkyWest.
I hope not. I feel safer flying with Eagle than with one of those ultra low cost regional operations that abuse and underpay their crews, leading to dangerous conditions with sometimes fatal results, as when brutally overworked crew can't stay awake. There was a fascinating and depressing PBS documentary about this recently.
