I'm loyal to a point. As anyone who reads these boards knows, I'm not real happy with SPG changes over the past 12 months.

I've moved a lot of my stays to Loews, which offers it's top tier guests guaranteed upgrades to suites at the time of booking, which is an unmatched elite benefit anywhere, IMO.

The problem is that they don't have that many properties. And no free rooms (although you get miles). Although, with no free night promos in the works for me in paricular, it takes about $3000 in SPG stays to get a free night anywhere decent. So I've not been missing the free nights all too much, considering how long it takes to earn them with SPG absent any promos.

As for the poster's frustration, there's plenty more to get worked up over than 1000 missing points. If you were considering leaving for that, there must be something else underlying your dissatisfaction.

There's still much to like about SPG. Just less than before.
