I agree that this discussion may possibly fit in another forum, let's leave it in Trip Reports for the time being.

As for the experience... they seem to have genuinely been concerned for your connection. And we're told to obey the crews orders. Sounds like their decision to bring you forward worked out alright... too bad you missed the flight after all that.
