NZ also has them at AKL International for Tasman flights with a self bag drop.
I find them great, at AKL International you used to wait over anhour in line before they introduced the self check-in now it takes 60 seconds and your on your way to customs.

Ive used NZ/DJ/JQ/QF and I have to say I didn't find the QF system to be any where as good as NZ, as the share lack of staff that QF has on.

Also note with QF you have you that scanner thing at the bag drop, where as NZ you just place your bag on the belt and walk away!
