The flight from HNL to DEN lands at 08:50 and DEN to ORD departs at 11:50, so I have three hrs to kill and could take an earlier flight from DEN to ORD.
However, I now only have measly Silver on CO, as hardly any more business tavel to USA these days, so I assume there will be some charge to try to change to an earlier flight (if available) ?

CO Silver pays $50 for flight changes <21 days. But it's waived if more than 21 days out.
