They don't seem to care that it was booked in P or D. They claim it goes by fare paid, but they are not following their own rules.
I checked my flight from this week - I purchased a D fare (SAN-JFK-SAN) for about $1200 ai. I checked my FF statement and got the same thing - H/D and no bonus MQMs. I checked the rest of my statements and found one other (H/Z) that didn't accrue MQM bonus but that was because of an IROP and I understand how that happened.
I booked my April trip (on the DL website) using a D fare - $1200, and then forced an H fare ($1000). How can Delta argue that my "D" is really an "H" with an instant upgrade when the difference in fare is $200?
Someone's got some 'splaining to do, Delta!
