Hi all,

I am planning on flying from the US to Goa, India and plan to be there from about the 20th to the 30th, which I know is peak season. It is now 9 months in advance but the cheapest airfare I can find today is around $2100 round-trip! Does anyone know of any ideas I can use to make it less? I haven't gotten my schedule for December so I will need to wait maybe another month to book. Specifically I thought of the following ideas:

Flights to Delhi are about $600 less right now, but flights from Delhi to Goa are around $200-$300, can I book these 2 separately but at the same time? Or could I arrive in Delhi and then get a ticket to Goa but I don't know about the availability.

Could I fly to somewhere in Europe where I would get the cheapest tickets to India, stay there for some period of time (maybe a day), and then get another flight to Goa, either booked in advance or taking advantage of local deals?

Let me know of any other ideas. I find it strange that it costs so much but maybe the demand is high and there isn't enough supply, for whatever reason.
