I was thinking that too, but other affiliate cards issued by Amex UK, e.g.
Nectar, do have a "member since" date.

If your card isn't ISSUED by American Express, but co-branded, like the Citi Amex for example, you're not a card member as far as Amex is concerned, therefore no "member since" date on the card.
Understood, but BA Amex cards are most definitely issued and managed by American Express UK.
