Hey, I wasn't aware you could use DL miles to redeem on codeshare flights! Is this normal? I came across to DL from NW during the merger, and I thuoght that you had to redeem on flights OPERATED by the partner airline (i.e., meaning Finnair would be off-limits).
Actually its the best part.^^ You can't redeem MQM or sometimes even miles on non-alliance code share flights but the best part is using miles on code share flights. As long as there is a sky team code on it, you can fly it.

It's the best way to try non alliance airlines that you normally wouldn't fly.
eg: Air France - code shares with Finnair, Japan Airlines, air Madagascar, air seychelles, air Tahiti Nui, AirCalin, Austrian airlines, Air mauritius, Jat airways, Malév Hungarian airlines, Qantas, Ukraine international and more...
