IIRC it is the other way round: Row 1 has 4 windows and row 2 has 3 windows. This is my reason for choosing 1A/K with TG 77W (and 2A/K with LX for the extra window + privacy).
I have flown in row 1 and 2 on this bird and noise levels are not a problem in either seat and therefore I prefer row 1 for the extra window ^

Like yycworldtraveler, I prefer A going East and K going West to avoid the sun in my eyes and also for the better views.

For the 744 I agree with yycworldtraveler. 1A/K and 2A/K are my favourite seats.
