Why shouldn't it be discussed in some travel section of FT? "Non-rev misbehavior" on flights or at the airport seems relevant to the passenger experience in much the same way as "revenue passenger" "misbehavior" on flights or at the airport can be to the passenger experience. And "revenue passenger" "misbehavior" gets discussed on FT quite often -- even today for that matter.
