As pointed out by morgan1929, you can enroll your spouse's card into your preferred RN account and earn miles / points as if it were your card.

By the same token, your spouse can set up an account with another miles / points partner because the card is discretely numbered and you can choose which (or even split bills and "double dip") when dining.
