What if the other person connects to another flight and realizes only on reaching home...Can they return it to the airport...And is there a chance they would still be able to trace my bag from whatever airport he connected to ?

Am losing hope as its been 5 days now ..The bag was worth 1200-1500 $ atleast and had my wife's medical reports.
