Leaving it as it is should be fine. What is important is to make sure that drinks are offered at all (and top ups if time permits).

Yes please. I just do not see why BA does not do it. Air France offers water, juice and champagne as pre-departure drinks in business class. Ukraine International manages to offer juice/water (used to do champers as well). Why can't BA? As it was pointed out, not everyone manages to use the lounge before the flight. And I would actually like a glass of champagne when departing KBP. BA uses [the only] contracted lounge there, and the choice of drinks is not good.
