I get suite upgrades maybe one out of every ten stays, but honestly that doesn't bother me as the standard rooms are just fine for me.
The three main benefits I get are:
1. Free Internet (I used to pay for this consistently). This is easily worth $15.
2. Platinum amenity. I have always been offered a half-bottle of wine plus cheese/crackers or fruit and this is a nice way to start they stay. This is easily worth another $15.
3. Concierge access. Definitely nice to get free breakfast, bottled water, coffee, etc. Worth another $10+. A couple of times I've received coupons for the restaurant (full buffet, appetizers) because the CL is closed and that's even better.
I think a lot of GOLD/PLATINUM members get hung up on the suite upgrade (I used to be that way), but is it really worth it?
