Nacho, what upgrade were you expecting at FI, SHS and CY? In all of those most rooms are almost identical! There are a few suites in CY, but they are often sold out as they are in short supply. There are no CL's, so there are no CL rooms.

At the Ren, you say all you got was free breakfast as there was no lounge. Again, what were you expecting? The T&C's call for breakfast M through F when there is no lounge...nothing else.

If you want your Gold to "pay off" then you need to stay in FS or Ren's...not the lower end properties. And if upgrades are the most important to you, then you should try SPG, as suites are a published benefit there.

I am sorry you were disappointed in your stays, but based on what you are saying, I think Marriott met their obligations. Perhaps they didn't work very hard to exceed them...but they met them.
