I am almost ready to bet that their model is to attract people beyond the 10,000 in number and have them go for it. If the application are about 100,000, that will be the same cost to them as if they were giving away 10,000 CrapMiles to each applicant. (They weren't getting many to apply for that offer)

They can even fiddle with it, by giving away just like 10 million miles as oppose to 1 billion and calling the quota as finished and have other applicants stranded.

To top it off they require you to wait to send your miles balance with FF program till you receive a credit card which comes with a link to do so. That said it will take 7-10 days for you to get it and by then the quota would be untouched and hence people can apply like crazy.

Am I the only one smelling skunk here??
