Same day. 00:01 - 23:59 the same day as your ticketed flight segment, in this case the DFW-LAS on the 16th.

You don't mention if you have status on AA. Without status, standby costs $. Only elites get free same day standby (or those who purchased such as part ot an offered package at checkin/ticketing).
