Sounds like what we used to have to do at AMS... We used to go through the KLM crew centre, which requires you go through security to enter the terminal... Then again at the gate.

Then someone had a bright idea, that we just go through the normal passenger route and save time and number of frisks in a working day...! Personally, I quite enjoyed the additional frisking, but thats just me...
