Depending on what the "situation" actually was there are different ways of dealing with it. There is no point describing how to handle a really serious incident if it was something far, far short of that.

The FA blowing him off may indicate it was trivial but if OP was not satisfied with that why not escalate right there and then to the No. 1 or the Captain ? If I saw a genuine safety problem I surely would.

I repeat, no details - can't help (or advise) .
