Amex Gold [UK]- Double miles on hotels?

I took out the Amex Gold card last month and appear to be recieving double miles on supermarket and fuel which is great.

I've had several hotel stays recently at brand name hotel chains. Should this appear as double miles?

The T&Cs say:

4. You will earn points for transactions (other than cash advances) charged and billed to your account at the following rates:
1 point for virtually every full £1 spent and charged per transaction. You will earn double points for virtually every full £1 spent and charged on transactions made at major airlines, car hires, rail, cruises, lodgings and travel packages/agencies, or on transactions made in a currency other than UK Sterling with the exception of internet transactions.
"lodgings" - does that mean hotels?

If I am entitled to double miles on hotels - how best to approach this with Amex customer services?

Thanks!
