I'll answer my own questions since another more relevant thread was recently "topped".
UA metal CO codeshare flights are eligible for UDU and will show in .bomb itineraries as pending but a few phone calls may be required. Sounds like I need to babysit the itinerary too as the window comes up for cleared/waitlisted. This is all still a work in progress but the UA agents can fix things. And it may be helpful to get my seat assignment from UA before CO does it automagically.
