Yeah. It's the marketing.

Besides, if SPG were playing the marketing puppet show in your conspiracy theory, why would they have not come out and said that ONLY stays booked directly with SPG via the website or the SPG phone lines would count AND THEN pull the old switchero back to allowing all bookings BESIDES priceline and hotwire, etc. to count?

As for most rates booked thru a travel agent or a corporate travel office - I'm not worried.
