As a Diamond in Asia, I feel we are perfectly looked after. like the OP, I do not appreciate wine on the table, so have asked that my profile states "no wine".
The room always has fruit, chocolates, cakes or something from the pantry. I am always upgraded into a suite of some description or other. If a hotel omits to put something in the room, it doesn't bother me, it is not something that I consider important.
