That Hyatt offers us an option at NAmerican properties is good because most of the food and beverage offerings are pretty miserable: nachos and Bud, get real! But at Park Hyatts in Asia and Europe I've had a great selection of foods prepared by fine pastry chefs.
I like the current system, and the surprise that greets me in my room elsewhere on the planet!
And that (in part) is the beauty of the world, people like and find value in different things. You like the current system as it suits your tastes, I would rather have a choice and be able to receive something I consider of value. Never did I even come close to suggesting that the Food and Beverage option be removed. I see nothing wrong with Hyatt or any other business offering choices to it's customers.
