The only trouble spot might be automated kiosks that sell rail tickets, etc. and Travelex will sell you a preloaded chip-and-pin card for those occasions if you wish.

Travelex overstates the challenge for US travelers in its press materials for obvious reasons, but as long as you're transacting with a human being, your current cards are no problem IME.
