Diamond Amenity in Asia

First of all, this is NOT a complaint, just expressing an opinion ...

After 25 eligible stays or 50 eligible nights in a calendar year, you will experience the highest level of membership and have access to our most generous benefits and awards.
...
Receive a special welcome point bonus or food and beverage amenity during each stay5
...

5 Welcome amenity consists of the following: at Park Hyatt, Grand Hyatt and Hyatt Regency properties in the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean; a choice of 1,000 bonus points or Food and Beverage option; at Andaz hotels in North America a choice of a locally inspired amenity, $15 Food and Beverage credit or 1,000 bonus points; at Park Hyatt, Andaz, Grand Hyatt and Hyatt Regency properties outside of North America a Food and/or Beverage amenity will be provided; at Hyatt Place and Hyatt Summerfield Suites a choice of 500 bonus points or fruit and water amenity; at Hyatt Vacation Club Resorts 500 bonus points will be awarded.

I understand that this is a one size fits all program and that it is not designed to be customized to each individual customer but ...

I just wanted to say that I think the Diamond amenity being Food and a Beverage (with no choice to have miles instead) in Asia is very underwhelming. I have spent a lot of time in Asia and I can tell you that excellent quality fruit can be had for very little money and I, personally, don't need it delivered to my room. Also I am not a big alcoholic ... er, drinker of alcohol, that is... so bottles of wine, etc mean nothing to me and, of course, I can buy bottled water at the local 7-11. I would rather have the choice to take points instead of the Food and Beverage. If such a choice can be offered in one region why can't it be offered in all regions?
