Orient Express will need to do a lot of improving. I had a really disappointing stay at the Westcliff in Johannesburg and it seemed to reinforce everything that I have found bad about this hotel group - out of date technology, specifically wifi that doesn't work, no movies on demand, etc. The Westcliff topped it off with the air conditioning not working in three different rooms (including the bedroom in the Presidental Suite amazingly enough).
This hotel group also seems to favour floral designs - beloved by everyone's granny. A little more updating to make some the hotels look more up to date would also be a step in the right direction.
I agree that O-E need to improve drastically, but there are signs that this is beginning to happen - not overnight by any means, but it is encouraging to know they are trying. Hopefully they will get a new interior designer - the current one is French and tends to repeat the same dated styles everywhere he goes, IMHO.
