The YYZ T1 domestic priority lane is not always open. I had this experience two weeks ago flying YYZ YVR where I showed my E card and BP and was told to use the regular line or Nexus when I was told that the priority lane was not open. It's rather annoying and riff raff get funneled into that line quite often so it's quasi useless. Another typical GTAA ape fart. I just use the Nexus lane now.
Also keep in mind that the downstairs Domestic security also has a Priority lane for Elites and Super Elites. I find this security is usually not that busy compared to the main Domestic security.
