Unhappy Bangkok Marriott Resort & Spa to Rebrand

This coming November, Minor Hotel Group will reflag one of its owned Bangkok properties, the Bangkok Marriott Resort & Spa.

The riverside resort is set to join Minor’s luxury hotel brand, Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas.

Minor International has enjoyed a strong and fruitful relationship with Marriott over the years, and both companies will continue to work together with their additional properties in Thailand, including the JW Marriott in Phuket and Marriott resorts in Pattaya and Hua Hin.

Both parties are working closely to ensure a smooth transition as the resort is enhanced and upgraded prior to joining Anantara Hotels Resorts & Spas in November 2011.

The resort will remain fully operational throughout 2011 and all guest bookings remain unaffected.

The Bangkok Marriott Resort & Spa offers a quiet tropical retreat, yet is conveniently connected to the city’s vibrant cosmopolitan and cultural attractions via a shuttle boat service to the sky train system.

The Bangkok Marriott Resort & Spa includes 413 rooms, including 94 suites, 10 bars and restaurants, fully equipped meeting and conference rooms, spa and tropical grounds.

Peter Carmichael, Senior VP of Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas said, “Anantara has gained a reputation for showcasing indigenous cultural experiences in some of the world’s most exotic locations. The new addition to the Anantara portfolio will undoubtedly prove to be an asset in this regard, with its sought after riverside location providing a perfect match with Anantara’s own charming identity.”
