The pots are "not so small" - in fact, if you fill the water all the way, the coffee is too weak.

Although I'm not a big fan of the Harbucks, those in-room Maxwell House and Folgers are pretty putrid, IM(nsh)O.

As far as the coffee pots themselves, I run them, and the filter holder, and lid, and cup, under hot water for a few minutes each.
