Recently, one great FA actually periodically stopped the Y boarding line at the galley while she took orders and then delivered PDBs. Unfortunately, that is the exception. Most of time, they don't even try.
I wouldn't trade a PDB for a delayed flight due to boarding issues. There's plenty of time to get hammered while in the air.
