That said, there's no IFE on US, so it's less of an interruption there than on other carriers.
On the 744s, and I believe the 777 and 767, they have a separate PA system for Y. After listening to announcements in English and German this weekend, I'm glad that we did not have to listen to announcements about food available, etc..
