I personally am not at all tempted by the St. Regis Bangkok, since I love the Four Seasons nextdoor.
However, the interesting thing is that Four Seasons BK, St Regis BK and the new Anantara Bangkok (ex Marriott) are all owned by William Heinecke of Minor Group.

St Regis is right next door to FS, but from what I hear is still ironing out lots of kinks, so early April could be a problem (it certainly was when St Regis first opened in Singapore).

However, I also hear that FS is not what it was, service wise. Will see later this month.
