For me Silver brings lots of benefits on the Oneworld network. Flying from Seoul to Hong Kong (in economy) was an absolute delight with all of the benefits on the ground. Business class check in, lounge access, priority boarding made for a very easy flight.

As I now live in Australia Silver status gives me access to all of Qantas' domestic lounges when I fly within Australia which is a must, given the size of the country! Also Qantas appears to favor BA Silver card holders when it comes to op-ups, they have been over-generous in my experience!
