No i don't believe that is the case, were talking about redeeming miles. If I as a platinum redeem miles for an award ticket for a guest, they will get those privileges. Someone like SBM12, Channa or some of the more knowledgeable folks could give the specifics.
Yes, on reward tkts that are booked out of a Plat's a/c, -- the Plat's status is 'attached' to the reward tkt & the boarding pass will show *Gold!
On an Int'l reward tkt, the pax will be eligible for access to the PC.
