Sadly, the preferred seats are not at the start of the 24 hour checkin window or at time of purchase like UA. You are "waitlisted" to get a snazzy leftover bulkead center seat. If you are the lucky one...it looks like you will be paged prior to boarding. No first class upgrade chances outside of the whopping 2 ONE WAY upgrade certs that can only clear within a couple of days prior to departure. It's curently worded to only clear for HNL-mainland US flights. No AM Samoa? No Asia or Sydney? It's a start for sure but HA sure has a slooooowwwww roll when it comes to status pax compensation.
