Early check in and late check out doesn't seem to be a problem with either the SGS and/or the ROS. The last time we stayed at the SGS we checked in at 07:00 without a problem. We were advised, however, that our breakfast privileges would begin only the next day. Late check out at 18:00 (a different stay) was happily granted with the same restriction limiting our access to the Library for evening cocktails.
Same story for the ROS, except they invited us to use the Lounge upon check in. During our many stays at this property, we witnessed many non-SPG guests staying on the Towers Floors, as well as SPG Elites being afforded late check outs (16:00) and stored luggage services as well as access to the Lounge and its evening cocktail service, all without additional charge. How much more accommodating can a property be?

While Bangkok's rush hour traffic is truly timed with a calendar and not a watch, cheap rates make the use of a taxi a viable option. Fares between the SGS and the ROS ranged from a low of 67 THB (Sunday, 20 minutes) to a high of 104 THB (Tuesday, 60 minutes). Fares to the airport, using the expressway were 153 THB + 70 THB (tolls) from the SGS or the WGS (Wednesday 03:00) and 189 THB + 70 THB (tolls) from the ROS (Monday 04:00). If you are two or more people sharing a cab, the cost and convenience often makes the BTS an unappealing alternative. Be aware, however, that the Thai government has recently approved a resolution allowing taxi fares to increase by almost 35%. Final vote has yet to pass.
