I agree. Royal orchid is old and in a bad location. The river is not worth seeing. If you really want to see it take a dinner cruise. The location of Royal Orchid is in the middle of a giant tourist trap. Although the suites are very large I don't think its a good enough reason to choose this hotel. If you want to stay in a better location try Sukhimvit. If you insist on the river stay one night at Royal Orchid and then switch. ITs no more than a 10-15 minute taxi ride to another BKK hotel.
