Ok, i've just read all 8 pages of this thread, looked at seat guru, looked at JDivers pics (thanks, and I will take more) and looked at the QF seating chart

now there are three of us; myself and 2 kids. We have J tickets with the F seats assigned. I was able to get AA to allocate F seating RT. Currently we have the 1A/2A/3A the other way (can't remember which is which) is 1K/2K/3K. We have never flown QF.

the K flight, there is one seat that is taken, the rest are open and the flight we have the A side, all seats are open

I used my QF record locator to change those to 2A/3A/4A and made the same changes for the return on the K side. I want those 4A/K seats for the space; I really wanted 1A/2A but was concerned about the lack of storage. we will max out our carry on. This is what we have reserved as I write this post.

I don't like center seats and past F seating experience on AA shows that the kids do better seated alone in the solo seats. Hence we are avoiding the middle seats since it is a viable option for us at this time

Questions

1. Seats 1A/K - If I have 1A AND 1K along with either 2A or 2B; Will we be able to have enough storage for say (i'm guessing here this far in advance) say a 22" rollaboard for each of the kids; a computer rollerbag for me, and back packs for each of us? Row 1 seats just seem (based on reading this thread and seat guru) to be nice and quiet and out of the way which is what I'd want for all of us. However storage is my number one concern. The closet, what actually goes into that closet anyway that causes the FA's to go back and forth into it?

2. Seats 4A/K - How much actual bumping (per seat guru) and Galley noise is going to affect those seated in 4K? Is the galley noise just constant throughout the flight? how much does the light shine into the 4A/K seating? Does the Lav door turn into the F or the J cabin? Do they have a curtain? Is it used? It just seems like 4A/K will have a ton of traffic if you include the Galley's, Toilets and FA movement.

3. Deplaning for customs, are we screwed by being the last out for customs? Since there isn't a F class per se, they are not going to let F seats out first. Which door do we deplane and load from?

4. Meals - is there a method to the madness of choices like FEBO on AA. how do we maximize getting a choice? Kids are picky and while I'll bring stuff for them, a choice might allow them something they will eat. I'll eat anything

5. Do these seats tend to be the last filled mainly because I presume you need to be elite to get these seats? or am I flat out wrong and they will be 100% filled just b/c those are the seats J pax will want.

6. Power outlets - I presume standard outlets that American devices can plug into or do I need some kind of adapter.

7. Do they have the GPS to show you where you are? on flights this long, its nice to have a vague idea where you are.

8. Finally, I presume for the self service bar, I must walk back to the one behind Row 26 in the regular J section?
