+1 I'd also be curious about whether they can revoke the bonus mileage credits. I can't recall all the previous posts in other threads and forums re this, but I was under the impression that once you have fulfilled the requirements the miles are yours to keep.
If you are asking if the idea is possible, I believe Chase has in the past. To the best of my knowledge, Citi never has. Other than claw miles back, a card company could maybe charge you fair market value of the points, or something like that.
But as others have mentioned, Citi has a well documented history of never doing this through all the heavy churning of the Citi AA cards in the past.
There isn't much of a reason to cancel quickly now if you can't get another one.
