I had a general question about United.

I am planning on flying from

RIC-IAD-BOS-IAD-RIC

The legs are < 500 miles each.

Does this trip count as 2 legs or 4 legs.

I tried searching the forum and reading the mileage plus rules but could not find anything.

I called the United Call Center (India) and asked and they said it would be 4 legs but I can't trust them. The lady sounded unsure about it.

Does anyone have a definite answer?
