First of all I don't understand why you would go back to the dark side if you don't become GGL. There are no added benefits but for a specialized helpdesk. No more miles or additional rights. I don't believe you should expect to receive standard upgrades...

I believe that you need to reach 3000 points after your Gold Membership year started and your TPs got reset to zero and then per membership year... You can't carry the balance.
