Personally, on the wine front (as a collector with ~100 bottles), I like Margaret River (WA) (Xanadu) and Penfolds (SA).

Penfolds Winery in the suburbs of Adelaide (15-20 minutes from city centre) is excellent, dine in the Restaurant overlooking the vineyard..aaahh
