First time post here. As you can tell from my username I'm not usually much of an air traveler. However, my wife and I are planning a trip to Oahu early next year and it looks like driving there isn't possible.

I'm looking for some help in flight selection.
I'll be coming from MSP and it looks like I have three main options.
MSP->ATL->HNL: Airbus A330
MSP->SLC->HNL: 767-300
MSP->LAX/SEA/SFO->HNL: 757-300
It seems like the trade-off is longer flights on a nicer plane or shorter flights on older planes. I've done quite a bit of searching here and have checked out Seatguru for seat specifics but I would really appreciate any advice you guys can offer. We haven't decided whether to fly coach or treat ourselves to first-class seats. We're leaning towards the latter as we don't fly often and figure we might as well make this trip special.
Thank you so much for any advice you can offer.
My partner and I just had to make this decision for this coming Xmas... We opted for P class fares AUS-ATL-HNL-OGG and return (much less expensive than the same AUS-ATL-HNL routing for some reason...) The A333 is going to be worth it for us AND for you to go to ATL for the much better seat. Especially on the return O/N... We've done it on the 757 LAX-KOA and KOA-LAX in F and, well... We're never going to do that again...
