Hi, I am going to Phuket in January 2012 (yeah, I know; talk about planning ahead!) and I will be staying 8 days. I have made a booking at http://www.pacific-club-phuket.com/ for a reasonable long stay rate of about THB 28.000 for 8 days, including transfers. Not bad, but it is not on the beach...

I have no idea what kind of town Karon Beach is. I like some restaurants, a nice beach, some bars but not the ridiculous wilds of Patong. Basically if my hotel has a couple of good restaurant alternatives within a 10 min walk I will be happy. If you know Bali, I am looking for something like Seminyak or Sanur...

I was looking for hotels with a good beach location, but those seem to be few and far between or you pay through the nose. Any suggestion for around THB 4000/6000 per night?
