Changing a seat assignment:
Hello all:
I am an independent travel booking agent. One of my clients who recently flew on USAir DCA-LAX-DCA with stopovers in CLT. His first leg (DCA-CLT) on AirWisconsin was delayed for a few hours on the ground due to a mechanical. Because of that, he missed his connection to LAX and had to be re-routed through PHX, adding 3 hours (not counting the delay) to his trip there. My client then was assigned 22B on an A319 on his PHX-LAX leg. When he was in the air I noticed the delay and tried to change it online.. which didn't work. Then I called the DividendMiles line... which is apparently closed on Sundays. Then I called the general customer-service line... same thing! So I call reservations and get a lady obviously based in India. I asked her to change the seat assignment as there were some empty seats. She then proceeded to tell me that she was sorry and that many travelers are experiencing delays due to the weather in E. Pennsylvania! What does that have to do with changing a seat? I have not formally complained.. should I?
